Kevin O’Connell
After many years of seeking happiness from outside sources, Kevin found yoga while searching for his true self. Kevin grew up playing sports and later worked as a firefighter, carpenter, and paramedic in the Brockton and Taunton communities. Growing up, Kevin suffered from depression, anxiety, and ADD. It wasn't until he began looking inward that he realized he had been internalizing these challenges, along with many of his insecurities and fears, and allowing them to shape his life.
Finding yoga helped Kevin find the self-awareness and self-acceptance he had always been searching for. The practice allowed him to slow his breathing, quiet his mind, and become fully present so he could truly experience life as it unfolded.
Kevin completed both his 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings with Nicole Burrill at Chakra Power Yoga, where his yoga journey first began as a student. What started as a search for healing has grown into a lifelong practice of learning, teaching, and self-discovery.
These days, Kevin's practice extends beyond the mat through Vipassana meditation. After completing both a 7-day and 10-day silent retreat with Rebecca Bradshaw, he has come to appreciate the profound stillness and clarity that meditation can offer. He hopes to share that same sense of presence and awareness with his students, both in movement and in stillness.
Yoga has helped Kevin cope with many of life's challenges, and he hopes as a teacher to help others discover the same sense of peace, strength, and freedom that this practice has given him.
Expect Kevin's classes to be physically, mentally, and spiritually powerful and challenging. You will leave feeling strong in body and soul with a greater awareness of yourself.
